PATIENTS & CONDITIONS
Dr. Mitchell is a naturopathic physician with a focused interest in rheumatologic diseases. Many of the patients he sees come from larger rheumatology practices with positive antibody tests and unclear symptoms. They seek a thoughtful second opinion and personalized care to better understand and manage their health.
Primary Symptoms Investigated and Diagnosed
We specialize in evaluating and diagnosing a wide range of complex and often overlapping symptoms. These may include positive antibodies or abnormal ANA tests, elevated inflammatory markers such as Sed Rate or CRP, joint and back pain, persistent fatigue, brain fog, low-grade fevers or chills, dry eyes and dry mouth, frequent headaches, skin rashes or changes, unexplained hair loss, muscle pain or weakness, and gastrointestinal issues. Our goal is to help identify the root cause of these symptoms and provide a clear path forward for your health and well-being.

Lab Tests & Treatments
Selective lab testing may include specialized assessments such as Food Intolerance Testing, Urine Organic Acids, Parasitology and Dysbiosis evaluation through Stool PCR and Microscopy, Blood tests for vitamin and mineral status, Infectious Disease studies, internal medicine panels, and 24-hour urine markers to assess heavy metal burden. However, as Dr. Mitchell’s practice style has evolved, these tests are no longer ordered routinely and are used selectively when they provide clear value. This approach helps ensure that testing is tailored to your individual needs and focuses on the most effective use of resources for accurate diagnosis and personalized treatment.
Treatment options I may recommend for you:
To help manage your symptoms and improve your quality of life, I use a variety of treatment approaches tailored to your individual needs. These may include low-dose naltrexone, disease-modifying anti-rheumatic drugs (DMARDs), and certain off-label medications with anti-inflammatory benefits. I may also recommend allergy treatments, psychopharmacology when appropriate, and both prescription and non-prescription antimicrobials. Additionally, vitamins, minerals, herbs, nutritional changes, and homeopathy can be part of your personalized plan. My goal is to find the right combination of therapies that work best for you.
